• Inventive sushi.
• Decor is minimal.

“I've been eating at this place for years and in spite of a recent change of ownership, Hiyama is a terrific not to miss dining experience. The key to an incredible meal is to put yourself in the hands of the chef - and one eye-popping dish after another comes to your table until you are sated. Great bang for the buck, or at least from the Manhattanite's perspective. I love this place! Still my favorite Japanese restaurant in southern California - and tucked away in a fairly quiet commercial neighborhood. Who wrote the bad review? Must have been the owner of the Japanese place up the street (which I confess I have not bothered to try). Go, eat and enjoy.”
