“I have been going to the diner for decades. I have never had a problem with the diner before but on a recent visit, I was very disappointed. My daughter took me, her sister, and my 2 granddaughters out for breakfast as a special treat. Although our visit started out fine, it soon became very evident that we were not welcome. Two of our orders were wrong and we were given a rotted pickle. The manager agreed that the order was not what we wanted and did replace it. However, we were very put out time wise and when we realized that the second order was wrong, we received a little bit of an attitude from the waitress. By then, most of us were done eating and we asked for box for the second corrected order. The waitress attitude increased and because she had volunteered to take over our table when our original waiter left for the day, it was as if we were bothering her. I have lived in the neighborhood for more years than I can count and have always enjoyed my visits to the diner. Once we were ready to go, my daughter who was paying, wanted a bill adjustment due to the inconvenience. This is not uncommon in any restaurant, but the manager decided to accuse my daughter of not wanting to pay. He proceeded to call her names and told her to pay the entire bill or not come back. She chose to leave. He starts yelling about calling the cops, who we waited for but never showed up. My point is that this man continued to insult my daughter and when I called him on it, he dismissed me. The last I checked, the customer is always right, especially a customer of at least 30 years or so. He has succeeded in losing not only my family as customers, but as many others as I can get hold of. By the way, my entire is in excess of 100 people. This is not over and I will continue to pursue this matter with the owner and the better business bureau. By the way, my daughter did pay the bill although the cops never showed up. This tells me that the manager, who continued to rant and rave after the fact, is not only an ignorant, ill mannered individual, but he is also a liar. We waited for quite some time before leaving. This is not a place where I want my family to spend their hard earned money.” 5 of 5 people found this review helpful.Popular Restraurants in PhiladelphiaView all restaurants in Philadelphia
