• The food and service is fantastic.
• The atmosphere is blah.

“Shells should not be described as an Italian restaurant. They do have a nice pasta menu of specialty pastas, but they also have a daily board menu featuring perfectly prepared seafood dishes as well as other main course items. Their sauces are fantastic and the side dishes served are delectable. The desserts are definitely 'to go' items for us because they are too delicious to turn down even if we did not save room for them at the time. We have been patronizing Shells for years and never eat anywhere else on the island.”

• The restaurant was willing to work with me on special requests to stick with my diet.
• The acoustics is loud inside the restaurant.

“I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable the enters were. We sat on the porch and the atmosphere was wonderful with the palm trees and the breeze. The restaurant was willing to work with me on special requests so I could stick to my diet.”

• Quest, drinks, enchiladas. All great.
• Popular place at times! We just have to have a margarita and wait a bit!

“We are never disappointed when we have a meal at la playa. We always have intentions of dining there for a few of our meals while in town. Very good, reasonably priced, warm and welcoming. Go there! You will be pleased as our family is.”

• Great food, great service, open seating.
• Little expensive, closed on Sundays.

“We love this place! We have been at least 6 times and have never had a bad experience. Our food has always been unique, flavorful and well presented. Our wait staff has been knowledgeable and friendly and accommodating. We love the menu; wish the wine list was a little longer though. The menu is a little pricey for the portions, but that just means we can't go as often as we would like. As for the previous review - the restaurant is very small and a lot of people do not realize that when you make a reservation, your table can only be held for a certain length of time so that the table can be re-sat again - so please don't linger too long and then get offended when you are asked to allow the table to be used for the next reservation - these little family owned places have to turn tables or they will not be able to stay in business. If you are finished and want to visit or linger over drinks - sit in the bar and let the business owners serve more dinners.”
