• Nothing.
• Everything.

“As out of town travelers we had heard of Port A and the amazing seafood. Well it was not to be found here. On arrival there were two teenage girls sitting with feet up in the air and smacking gum - was a major effort to show us to the table. The menu well, the less said the better, what with those prices and the rubbish we were served - I will add I have been on a hunt for frozen crab cakes that could possibly compare to those. Please do not waste your money going to eat there! We have told all our friends visiting not to eat there.”

• Wait time for our food.

“This was my first time traveling to Port Aransas, and we overheard someone at the hotel mention this place. The food was great and the atmosphere was too. They had a great selection of fish and shrimp dishes. My husband had the Mahi-mahi and he really loved it! I will definitely visit again.”

• The Seafood was fresh at fair price.
• Service should be better slightly.

“A castaway was good food at a good price; there are a variety of menu items for all pocketbooks and all tastes. Seafood is fresh catch and includes soft-shell crab. Service serving girls, not by experienced waitpersons (acceptable though). Salad bar was unexpectedly refreshing; onion rings were generic.”

• Great staff, owner, and of course the food is great.
• Noisy.

“One of the best places to eat at while in town, not what you would expect by looking at the outside and inside the building, It is loud in the restaurant, that's because it is packed from 5 to 9. My wife and I have brought large crowds to this restaurant and the service and the food was excellent.”

• The food and service is fantastic.
• The atmosphere is blah.

“Shells should not be described as an Italian restaurant. They do have a nice pasta menu of specialty pastas, but they also have a daily board menu featuring perfectly prepared seafood dishes as well as other main course items. Their sauces are fantastic and the side dishes served are delectable. The desserts are definitely 'to go' items for us because they are too delicious to turn down even if we did not save room for them at the time. We have been patronizing Shells for years and never eat anywhere else on the island.”
