• Leaving. I liked leaving knowing I'd never be back.
• Pretty much the entire experience.

“It's bad. Nasty. Tasteless starchy weird presentation non traditional. Poor service and ugly atmosphere. Our waitress was a mumbling disinterested student wearing a heavy metal T-shirt. After she served us the practically inedible food, she went and sat in a nearby table and studied, ignoring us unless we called out to her for items she forgot, like fork, drinks, check. You'd be much better off at Panda express or just go hungry.”

• Disappointing chicken fried steak.

“Have been taking my kids to the Gris Mill for many years after river rafting. We have always raved about the chicken fried steak. Took a friend there for the first time and the chicken fried steak was horrible. The gravy wasn't even good. What a disappointment. Hopefully the cook just had a bad day. It would be a shame since they are known for their hamburgers and chicken fried steak.”

• Very clean, fast service, overall great food.
• Have regular salsa, hot salsa, but I like mine flaming hot.

“La Casa del Lago is a Mexican restaurant. Very authentic, made fresh - not out of a can. Great salsa and chips. Fajitas, enchiladas, and tacos are all fantastic. Also have steaks and seafood.”

• Great food beer is great no complaints.
• Wait staff to loud but only once.

“Eat here every time I pass through new Braunfels. My grandparents were German and so am I closest thing I can get to German food. And the fried potatoes a must have along with the German potato salad. I could go on and on. I'll be back again.”

Adobe Verde

• Restrooms were messy.

“I had dinner at Adobe Verde last weekend when we were in town visiting family. Our servers name was Clint and he did a fantastic job. They had live music going which made it hard to hear, but the musician was fantastic. I had the Adobe Tacos which were a spicy blend of Fajita and a Quemada Sauce, and my wife had the Chicken Nachos. The food was quick and both plates came out hot. Gruene is a great place to spend the weekend and I would suggest stopping in Adobe Verde.”
