- Good meat. Rest pretty staid. Eat there once then go to Lockhart.
- Attitude of wait staff.
“My wife and I had heard about the City Market BBQ and how good it was. The set up is confusing for the first time visitor and the people at the front pavilion seemed bored and bothered that they had to explain how their restaurant operates to us "foreigners." In short the drink folks had an attitude. The BBQ people in the back were patient and quick to assist. Meat was good, even the sausage which is normally very greasy in other restaurants. Would go back, but do take out since they don't provide utensils to eat the food with. They say its part of the "mystique" of the place and that the BBQ is so tender you can eat it with your fingers. May be true for sausage or ribs, but the rest requires knives and forks. They seem to be leaning on their reputation, but overall food was good. If you want really good BBQ, go to the corner of Highway 83 & 41 West of IH-10 and prepare to enjoy some of the best BBQ in the Hill Country.”

- Incredibly good chicken and value for the dollar.
- Disappointed they aren't in San Antonio!
“The best chicken for the money anywhere. Get the 15 piece chicken strips for $20 to go. Includes 15 huge pieces of chicken, home made biscuits, gravy and scrumptious French fries.”
