• The lady at the front.
• Food, Smokey atmosphere.

“I have heard that we should all be afraid to see the kitchen. Personally speaking, the food seems to have all been made in old oil. When I walked in to pick up food one time, (yes, I've been more than once out of desperation but I'm done going now), 16 year old waitresses were lying, YES LYING in front booths smoking cigarettes. I had planned on calling the owner but it got by me. I still should. One nice lady was answering phones, ringing up all orders, and trying to seat people. What I wouldn't do for a new and good Chinese restaurant in Bastrop Texas!”

• Our waitress was friendly.
• A waiter serving other tables was suffering from excess piercing? Not pretty!

“Visited restaurant with my family and friends on Sunday late afternoon, had the sirloin steak and baked potato. My steak was tough and bland no seasoning at all severely overcooked. All 4 potatoes at our table were discolored inside from being in the warmer too long. They were serving canned sodas (can't imagine a restaurant today not having fountain drinks) overall not a good experience, was rather embarrassed to take my extended family there! And this place calls them a quality steak and seafood place.”

• Fast service, friendly workers.
• Filthy tables and chairs. Dirty dining area and restrooms.

“The sanitary status of this jack in the box is filthy and the appearance is most unsanitary to the naked eye. My husband and I enjoy everything else about this restaurant except how nasty it has become since it has open not to long ago. We ate there today and I noticed the tables and chairs are unacceptably caked with left over crumbs and the rims of the tables appear to never be wiped down. The floor which is carpet has food everywhere you look and is stained to no end. The window sills have dead flies and completely filthy. The bathroom floor is embedded with dirt and smells like something I care not to explain. If the eating area and restrooms have been neglected I can only wonder what the kitchen looks like. I truly hope this review will get the managers to take a good look around at the place and make it a more enjoyable place to dine. Today I could only look at my food without the thought in my mind that I could throw up. Please take some time to make a more pleasant atmosphere. Maybe the health department needs to be informed about the condition of what was once my favorite place to go for lunch and sometime dinner. Today I decided I would not risk my health any more because I have no idea what my food has been through or across. This whole scenario has become a big disappointment to me and my husband. I even noticed a Spanish worker standing around doing nothing leaning against the back counter chewing on her fingernails. And her boss was ringing up the customers. She could have at least been cleaning the dinning area and sweeping up all the food on the floor and wiping down the drink area. I think it is just due to bad management. Neither of the two managers runs a very tight ship. It bothers me that I have to write this but Im sure lots of other customers feel the same way. If I had young children I would not ever take them in that restaurant. Please take notice so I can have my favorite place back. a once regular customer, Martha.”

• Everyone there is friendly and probably is a personal friend. Great to socialize.
• The parking lot is always packed!

“My great-grandma Jewell Beggs is the original owner of Mimi G's. I grew up going to this restaurant and I've always loved it there. My favorite dish would have to be the catfish and the salad bar. And of course the strawberry cheesecake at the end! It is a great family environment and the service is always amazing. Mimi G's is always packed with people because of there amazing food and service. And even when the place is packed, the waitresses always make time to ask you how you are doing. It's great! I've moved away from Bastrop, but I'm coming back in November to visit, and I can't wait to bring my family to Mimi G's for a great dinner!”

• When I want a good coffee and it's after 4:30.

“It's a nice place. Best coffee place in town. The only drawback is the hours. They're usually not open past about 4:30.”
