- Wonderful food and atmosphere.
- Can't go often enough.
“The service was great. The food was superb, cooked exactly like we ordered, from picking your own perfect slice of beef to the wonderful sides. We loved it and will return here soon.”

- Filet, Shrimp, Shrimp sauce and less people at the table.
- None.
“There are those who prefer Kanpai, (not sure how to spell it) or Shogun's. I prefer Shoguns in the Upstate area. The portions are great. I always upgrade to the Filet. I prefer the way they spice the food (or don't) compared to the others. I also prefer the shrimp sauce at Shoguns.”

- Steak was tender, service was fast.
- Rice was flavorless and veggie portions skimp.
“This was my first and last time for Shogun. Food does not compare to Kanpur. Fried rice had much less spice, no egg, green onion, nor flavor. I ordered steak and mushroom, my husband ordered a lesser price steak and chicken. He got the rib eye just like me, mushrooms (as did the rest of the table) plus chicken. I only got the rib eye. What did I pay extra for again? I am so disappointed, I should have stayed with my tried and true Kanpur of Tokyo!”

- The manager negated my bill.
- The service and integrity of the wait staff and chef are lacking.
“What a terrible experience. I ordered hot wings, and they brought wings which had first been glazed with barbecue sauce, then covered in hot sauce to disguise the mistake. Then the waitress lied about it and tried to cover it up, but finally admitted what had happened. - When you can physically see two different sauce colors, it¿s fairly obvious -.”

- Scallops were good.
- Atmosphere was terrible.
“This was my first time to this restaurant. The restaurant itself was not very big. The decor was very plain. Did not really feel like I was in a Japanese restaurant, compared to a great restaurant in Greenville called Myabi's. Instead of playing Japanese type music, they were playing Lynard Skyward. The meal started with a small cup of onion broth, a small salad that was only chopped lettuce with dressing. Then you get a huge portion of fried rice, grilled veggies (mostly onions), and then your main entree. For desert you get a small scoop of sherbet. My entree was Scallops (7) with broccoli. The cost was $17.95. That is with water to drink. The waiter wasn't entertaining while cooking like most are. He had rice everywhere I would not recommend this restaurant! ”
