Doogers Seafood & Grill II
May 12, 2009 by Gerry from Kelso, WA
Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[3] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[3]

  • Waitress was personable.
  • It was overpriced with small portions.

“We were very disappointed with our choice of Fish & Chips. The fish was extremely small in portion, and reminded me of something you would buy out of a frozen box at the supermarket. They were not real pieces of Halibut. Burger was okay at a decent price. The place was uninviting for a place that was suppose to be special at the beach.”

“Have never eaten a taco salad & gone home hungry! The "bowl" was stale & the salad was small for $10! Hubby had a steak dinner & also came home hungry. Overpriced & will not return!”

Girtles Seafood & Steak
Sep 7, 2006 by Gretchen from North Plains
Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[5] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Nothing positive to say.
  • Awful wait staff, we never received our food after and hour and a half. Do not recommend this place!

“Well after finishing the Hood to Coast this year, we decided to find a place to eat, we ended up finding Girtles along the strip, and the place just looked great, good prices, good smell, not too busy. So when we arrived we asked how long for a party of 12, the hostess rolled her eyes and said about an hour (which is understandable, its Hood to Coast weekend) then we said we could offer to split up our group and make it easier for them, they said no problem about 15 min. After we sat down, we had good service from our waitress, and she ordered all our food and drinks promptly. About 30 min. into waiting, the waitress came out to say our food would take a little longer because they were so busy tonight, again understandable. She offered to bring us more bread to suffice our hunger, we asked if we could get something else, like free drinks for the wait, she said no. About and hour later, she came out to say it would still take a little longer, I had asked just how much longer, and she said our ticket was still 5 tickets back!! After and hour that is crazy! She said they were trying to serve people in the lounge first, who we never saw come in, and all the tables around us that had come in after us, had been served or was just getting served. About another 30 min went by and still no food. By this time we were very hungry and frustrated, so we went and asked for the manager, which none of the wait staff, could seem to find. The hostess in charge, all dressed in black, was extremely rude when we asked exactly what was taking so long, and told me to go find someone else to talk to, how could I when there was no manager to be found? This head hostess had been currently arguing with one of the bus boys, and they were yelling profanities to each other, which another table next to us over heard an told us. My whole family was there, that ran the Hood to Coast together, and I have never seen all of us so upset and let down before like this, by a restaurant! They never once apologized, or offered anything to us. They told my father even, who is never an upset man, that they were going to call the cops if we didn't pay our bill right now! We did up leaving, paying our portion of salads, soups and drinks, that we had, but never should of had to for the service we received. I believe that this was the worse experience our family has ever had, and we plan to make sure everyone that we know, will not be dining here.
