• My food looked good.
• The customer service and atmosphere were bad.

“I had lunch at Pies-On Pizza on Wednesday, October 7. The first thing I did when I walked in was get a highchair for my infant, both chairs were filthy, and I was so glad I'd brought my chair cover. The restaurant itself was not very clean. There wasn't trash on the floor, but it didn't look like it'd been cleaned anytime in the recent past. The customer service was definitely lacking. It took a while for my presence to be acknowledged up at the counter, and the lady was rather rude. As I sat waiting for my order, several other patrons lit up cigarettes and proceeded to puff away. Had I seen ashtrays on the tables, I never would have stayed in the first place; the restaurant's too small to avoid even one person's second-hand smoke. Because of the smokers, I went up to the counter to ask for my order to go. That's when I discovered my calzone had not even been made yet. At this point I had already been waiting for over twenty minutes. No apology was offered at that time. I waited outside until my food was ready. When I picked it up, the lady who took my order offered some vague apology, but it lacked sincerity. No offer for a free meal or even a coupon was given. It ended up taking 40 minutes to order & receive my food, and I wasn't waiting in line for any of that time. The food was decent. The calzone was very big, and looked good. It was seasoned with too much garlic powder for my tastes. Fresh garlic flavor is one thing, but garlic powder is another. The tomato sauce served with it was way too watery. The cheese in the calzone was not all melted. To top off a less-than-stellar dining experience, I had an upset stomach after eating my calzone. I will not be returning to Pies-On Pizza, and I will never recommend it to anyone.”

• Too pricey.

“I grew up in Philadelphia and this is the closest, I've come to the real thing since I moved down south. Best sausage and pepperoni pizza in town.”

• The Calzone's are very tasty!
• A little pricey.

“There's not a very big selection of pizza in the southeast apart from the big chains. There are some ma and pa stores that make some mediocre pizza. Pies on Pizza is in a class of it's own in the Goose Creek area. They make a satisfying pizza, and an even better calzone. It's not the pizza I'm used to in Chicago, but it's pretty close.”
