Harrison's On North Atherton
Nov 4, 2009 by Marcus from State College
Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[4] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • The wait staff is great.
  • Their once very good soup and salad bar is now mediocre. The six salads on offer - which have not changed in selection over the years - are not as fresh as they use to be.

“Harrison's tries to serve a lot of local food which we like. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has decreased. Their once very good soup and salad bar is now mediocre. The six salads on offer - which have not changed in selection over the years - are not as fresh as they use to be. The soups are overwhelmingly starchy and the plates are usually spotty. However, the wait staff is always very professional. Some of their meals from the menu are still good. Like the autumn beet salad, but the amount of goat cheese on it has almost shrunk to nothing.”

Mario & Luigis Restaurant
Feb 16, 2009 by Philip from Lancaster PA
Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2
Food:[2] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • Some of the food was good. Good wine.
  • Waiter had to apologize profusely for someone's lack of planning.

“Perhaps a bad idea to go here on Valentine's Day, it took us 2 hours and 45 minutes to get some food and get out. We ordered from a very attractive Valentine's Day menu. Had to ask for bread when food was delayed. Wrong appetizers delivered and then right appetizers were given. After second serving of bread, 1st Entrees were served at about and was not too bad. Scallops were cold and uncooked in the middle. Waiter was very nice but had to apologize profusely throughout this 2-1/2 hour ordeal. The only thing that made all this palatable was some good wine with the entrees.”

Highway Pizza
Oct 14, 2007 by Donnie from Pittsburgh
Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[7] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Dining in on a non-crowded weekend, esp. Late has been good.
  • Don't risk ordering out on football weekends, no matter what they say.

“Highway Pizza has always been a place that our family has gathered on our visits to State College over the span of two PSU students. We have enjoyed the wait staff of the Atherton restaurant sight, and the friendly atmosphere. The pizza is very good as are entrees such as the eggplant Parma Sean. However, after a Wisconsin football game this season, we called in an order to the Moses Thompson lane address and after patiently waiting the 45 minutes for the food, went to pick it up. They had lost our order. We returned after they promised to make our meals a priority after another 25 minutes. Arriving back, we were told "another 15 minutes (they're packing it up"). Then, after that time passed and no food, no explanation, no apology. We left and drove back to Pittsburgh without dinner, after waiting almost two hours. A really bad kind of hungry and hurt.”
