Sherlocks Club

- Nothing.
- Subtle exterior appearance gave no warning of the bizarre environment found inside.
“I felt like I was walking into the twilight zone. I was in town for work and staying at a motel across the parking lot. Sunday night in OKC has limited night life, so my and my co-worker decided to catch a few beers close to the motel. Sherlock's looked like a simple little neighborhood bar. Instead, we walked into a bizarre room full of bow-tie wearing elderly wait staff and walls covered in various renditions of the Sherlock Holmes character, most notably a large velvet one. The crowd can be best described as the 'isle of misfit nightclub patrons'. Any further accurate description might not meet the criteria of an inoffensive post.”

- Best hot sauce anywhere, good food, good prices!
- Bad neighborhood, but never had a problem in 30+ years.
“Tacoville has the best hot sauce anywhere. I have introduced people to Tacoville at every place I have ever worked. I personally like the taco chili burger best. Their combination burrito is very tasty and filling and the best part, cheap. I have been eating there since I was 4 years old, I am 36 now. Quit reading this review and go there now. Ask for the Bruce special.”

Kona Ranch Steakhouse
Jul 11, 2008 by
Polly
from Kansas City, MO
Overall Rating: 6
- The bread and coconut butter was great!
- The brisket was dry and tough.
“The bread and coconut butter were excellent. We had the BBQ Family Style for two. The brisket was tough and dry. My husband had the ribs and he said they were good. The turkey was also pretty good. The kona BBQ sauce was very sour, but perhaps that is the Kona way. The beans were seasoned with the sauce, so that made them sour tasting. The service was fine and the time to get our order was fine.”

- I liked the smoked bologna.
- The eatery showcases a picture of a man in blackface.
“Jamil's showcases a picture of a man in blackface. This behavior embodies American racism that we sometimes think is from a time long gone, but this slaps us back into reality. I am sickened by this display and I would not encourage anyone to visit this eatery.”
