“Can't believe I have lived in Wilmington for almost 6 years and just now discovered Heck Of A Peck! I was greeted at the door by the owner as well as staff, all friendly. The raw oysters (husked in front of me) were so fresh and tasty. The homemade cocktail sauce was served warm and extra horseradish was available. I left very full and happy.”

- I loved the home style diner cooking.
- The place gets crowded because it is great.
“This is a hidden locals favorite diner that simply serves great food at a great price. Nothing is pretentious here. This is just good home-style cooking. The breakfasts are eye-appealing and great. There are diner lunch specials like pork chops (2 for $7) or rib eyes ($9) each with your choice of 3 sides. The sides include rice & gravy, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, cucumbers & tomatoes, beans, etc. This is true blue-plate special diner food all cooked to perfection. They also serve burgers and hot dogs and handmade desserts like apple pie. You will also have to look closely to even find it. The building and the parking lot are hid among the trees. The inside is light and airy and tourist free for the most part.”

“We wanted a nice dinner a picked this place. What we got was a Hostess who did not want to give us the time of day, bartender was the same. Once we were seated we were give water that had a Tap water taste and had a smell. The silverware, (once we got it was dirty. Looking around at the empty tables we noticed the wine glasses looked dirty. Once the food was brought out is a huge disappointment. We had ordered the Prime Rib. It was over cooked a dry. The potatoes (garlic smashed) had no Garlic taste. The Asparagus was way under cooked. We spent $65.00 for a meal that was not worth $20.00. For it to be an expensive restaurant it has the character of a McDonalds. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would love if they had their own Website so I could complain.”

- The food was out of this world.
- The meal ended.
“We went to this restaurant as it was opposite our hotel and we were tired and hungry. However, it ended up being the best decision we made. The food was absolutely amazing (try the crap dip appetizer) and both the service and atmosphere was great. Highly recommend this restaurant.”
