“Heard a lot about Big Nell's from family and friends that have stayed at Sunset Beach. All of they said that I had to try it. Well I'm glad I did because I'll never go back. wait staff was rude. They knew we weren't locals so we were unimportant. Took close to 35 minutes to get our food and it was cold when it arrived. If you ever go expect very little. Save your money and to into Calabash for a good brunch.”

- Absolutely incredible New York Pizza. Nothing compares for many miles.
- Spartan interior.
“This is positively the best New York Style pizza in Brunswick County, NC and probably all of Myrtle Beach as well. If there's a better pie shop than Joey O's on the whole coast of NC, I want to hear about it. Joey O's is a fairly new restaurant (a year or two), but its impact has been seismic on the SE NC beach restaurant scene. Sanitation grade of 100 as of April 2006. Pizza so good there ought to be a law. Real New Yorkers running a family restaurant who take pride in their work and know exactly what they're doing. It'll be obvious with every bite. The in-store ambience isn't all that, but there's lots of nice NY memorabilia inside. You'll appreciate that until the pie comes, and then everything else will fade into the background as you focus on how amazing the pie is. My family owns a home in Sunset Beach NC, and every time I visit I don't miss Joey O's. They don't deliver to Sunset Beach because of the bridge, but will deliver to Ocean Isle. I always opt for take-out at the bottom of the hour. Joey O's receives the highest recommendation from this lifelong pizza fanatic who has lived in the northeast and haunted many legendary pie shops in NYC, CT, and MA.”
