  • The best hush puppies in Nags Head.
  • Can be long waits on Friday and Saturday nights.

“A beautiful view of the sound. We've been traveling to the Outer Banks for 35 years and it is a must stop every year. Can be busy so get there early. If you want seafood on the Outer Banks, go to Tale of the Whale.”

  • At least the buffet trays were kept full.
  • Unappetizing, over-priced food.

“The sign claims "Best Buffet on the Outer Banks," which is a complete misnomer. When we visited (July 2006), we paid $60 for two of us to eat dinner (we had an ice tea for $2.50 each!!). If I pay $29.95 per person for a buffet, it had better be pretty darned good, but this place was awful! There were 15-year-olds running the counter and serving (God only knows what circus went on in the kitchen!). The food was horrible. The crab legs were over-steamed (is that even possible?). The music was driving us crazy. The buffet was tiny. This was the only restaurant we regretted having gone to during our vacation to the Outer Banks.”
