• NC vinegar based sauce is a pleasure to behold.
• Service is hit or miss on some evenings.

“Not a trendy, fern bar, European-gourmet style place, but a pork lovers palace nonetheless. The pulled pork sandwiches are to die for with an artisan's touch evident in each mouthful. The vinegar based sauce stood up well to the pork's smoky flavor and had no touch of sourness. It seemed to cleanse the palate while you got ready for the next bite. I would have made the slaw a little less watery, but the taste was excellent and the cabbage was fresh and firm. The hush puppies were fried to perfection and it's good that only a few are served with each meal, otherwise you would stuff yourself silly with these crunchy morsels. The tea was fresh brewed and strong. Service can be a little slow some nights, but it's very well worth the wait.”
