“This is the worst value you could ever imagine. Avoid any place with we buy gold sign in the window for dinner. You'll be sorry if you go! Chinchy, mediocre and overpriced.”

- Food & service was great.
- Seating is a little crowded.
“We went to Bowman's Sat. 8/23/08 with a party of 9. They were very busy but we were seated & served very quickly. They close at 9 PM & we had 2 more join us at 8:50 but that didn't seem to be a problem either. The food was fantastic. The prices were very reasonable with nice size servings & the hushpuppies were out of this world.”

- Enjoy the family friendly dining.
- Ordered water to drink and was referred to as a "water baby" by the waitress. Felt somewhat offended.
“Wonderful breakfast choices and delicious food. There needs to be a NCSU flag flying out front though. Ha!”

- Great family restaurant.
- Still offer a smoking section.
“The restaurant is extremely charming. It is an old renovated on the outside, but when you walk inside, the nautical decor makes you feel like you are at sea. Our children enjoyed the kids menus that kept them occupied as well as the large box of crayon to choose from. The young man who waited on us was extremely pleasant, helpful and attended to our every need. My entree, which was a NY strip, was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. My wife had the chicken deck house which was out of this world. I will definitely go back again.”

- Attractive setting and décor.
- Everything else.
“The menu was very limited. No shrimp, oysters or seafood platters that you come to expect. The menu was pretentious and I suspect most of the food was not local or fresh. Because the menu was so limited, our group ordered two appetizers each and the waiter said sarcastically, "boy, you went all out". One of the features of this restaurant was their cornbread which was brought to our table ice cold. It was gummy and had the aftertaste of bad creamed canned corn. The crab cake was mostly breading and the Aiolo was mayo with garlic. We all ordered the chowder and the first bite had shell and several bites later the clam was full of sand. We asked to speak to the manager and he was defensive and angry. He attacked our character and tastes. We would have done much better at captain d's. At least they are not pretentious.”
