- Reasonably affordable.
- Old, unchanged, bland.
“My parents and grandparents loved this place. Established by boxer joey o'donnell, it was a local favorite. However, ownership has changed several times and little has been done to update the atmosphere or the menu. Even over the past 5 years, the quality has steadily dropped. The pasta sauce is lousy, the Manhattan clam chowder is pasty, the interior is depressing. There are a couple items on the menu that I do enjoy, but not many. Flounder francaise is one of them. The french onion soup is acceptable. The rolls are good and their early bird cocktail prices are decent. My mother still likes the fried seafood combo which I would eat if I ate crab cakes or deviled clams. Overall, the place hasn't changed much in the last 50 years and that's to its detriment. They used to have an awning that covered the entire entrance ramp, which was great for the many elderly and disabled who still go there - a quick way out of the rain. No longer - to improve the place, they took this one advantage away. Sorry, but they no longer impress me. I go there only on my mothers request or as a last resort.”

- Good food and a lot for the money.
- Sometimes chilly.
“I have been going to the Brook lawn Diner for years with my family. Just this past Thanksgiving, my mom and I decided instead of cooking for the two of us, we would go to the Brook lawn. The food is always good and you get more then enough to satisfy your hunger. Occasionally, the "Florida" style room (with all the widows) gets a little drafty or the AC is set too high but other than that, it is a really good place to eat. I have never had a bad experience at the Brook lawn.”
