• Beef burritos, enchilada style and supreme.
• Service used to be just awful, but that has improved!

“Husband took me to Tijuana Fats in Blowing Rock over 22 years ago for our first date. The food has always been good. Our favorite is the Beef Burrito, enchilada style and supreme. The service used to be really, really bad, but the food as always kept us going back. The rice used to be awful too, but now after 22 years, it is pretty good. The nachos with jalapenos used to be wonderful, but now you have to ask for extra cheese for the nachos to have near enough cheese. They used to use Pace picante sauce (or that's what it tasted like) years ago and when they changed, I never have like it. Always thought about taking my own picante sauce once they changed. The service has improved greatly! Me and hubby laughed and laughed for years about how bad the service was, but those burritos always kept us going back, no matter. I purely must have one tomorrow and TF's is at least an hour away from us. TF's is a little different from traditional Mexican Food like Mi Pueblo and Monte De Rey, but if the flavor trips your taste buds, you will purely be hooked. Hubby and I have been eating there for 22 years, so maybe my opinion is worth something.”

• The view is absolutely gorgeous.
• Smoke from the bar filters into the restaurant area.

“The food is varied and pretty good-sometimes it is better than others. The view is absolutely gorgeous which is in my opinion the best part of this restaurant. The bar area is close to the eating area and it is less than desirable when the smoke drifts into the eating area as well as the blasting of the bar TV's. This could be better!!”

• Children's menu, inexpensive options.
• Poor customer service,.

“T/he decor is reminiscent of a BBQ restaurant. They offer a wide range of food choices. I was interested in the meatloaf with two veggies. The hostess/cashier admitted that the mashed potatoes were instant, but that she was sure I could substitute the real "smashed potatoes" that were offered with the expensive entrees. However, the waitress refused to do this, not even offering to check with the management. When I later asked the cashier about it, she said she had heard the management tell someone on the phone that the substitution was fine. What ever happened to customer service?”

• Good food.
• Over-priced, rude owner.

“Although the food was good, it was over-priced, even for this resort town. (Over $6 for a side salad!) Our experience would have been OK, except that as we were finishing our meal, our 5 year-old son was amusing himself quietly looking through pea gravel landscaping near our outdoor table. The owner came over to us, not to complement our son's good behavior, but to tell us to remove him, so he wouldn't mess up the "landscaping". This was the second restaurant where rudeness triumphed over polite customer service. We won't be eating in Blowing Rock again. ”

• Would be a great place to just drink, because while drinking every place is fun.
• Not an authentic Mexican restaurant, money wasted.

“The food was not authentic Mexican at all. There were bones in my chicken taco salad, not a small bone but one large bone. The kids menu nachos is a few chips with sliced cheese melted over them. it took well over an hour and a half for us to eat and get out of there, most of which was waiting to take our order bring the food etc, keep in mind the waitress only had 3 tables in all!”
