• It's close.
• The food is not so great, and now looks like every other diner, no big deal.

“The new owners took out the one good thing they had, a lovely fireplace in the far room. It didnt interfere with the tables at all. They have cheapened everything, the cheese rolls are stingy, the napkins too cheap, and the menu out of date. The food is disappointing and unless they do something soon, we will lose our nice close diner and have to go to Nick's, Hathaways, Penn Queen or Harvest. There are plenty of other choices, and they need to pay attention to that. Where is the fresh broccoli on the menu? Where are the interesting light dining foods?”

“The restaurant used to be very good but new owners took over and it has gone down hill. They remodeled but the food and service is still the same, bad. They will really have it kick it up for me to go back. There are too many other restaurants and diners that serve hot food, fresh greens in their salads, fresh rolls, etc, and have friendly service.”

• Turkey open faced sandwich.
• Waiting to pay.

“Much improved food after they worked out the kinks - ask for tables in the back - the wait staff that is experienced is assigned to that area. Sitting in the front at the quick service lunch bar - leaves you open to a lot of conversation by the regulars. Quieter in the back.”

“The golden dawn diner has always been one of our favorite diners to go to. But since the new ownership everything is has gone down hill. We have had so many bad meals there and what I mean by bad meals is cold coffee, rolls that have been microwave (gummy), vegetables cold, meat overly done (dry). We stopped going for a long time and we just found out that the place was remolded we thought we would give it a try again. Well the place looks nice but the food and service is still the same. We will never go again. If they continue to serve food like we were served they will no doubt be going out of business.”

“Looks can be deceiving because this place really looks yucky, but the food & service are absolutely fabulous.”
