- Waitress was very nice.
- Owner/chef provided horrible service.
“First visit to restaurant. Nice looking place with a friendly waitress who seated us and took our order of two cheeseburgers. Now in all fairness, no one asked how we wanted our burgers cooked nor did we specify we wouldn't like them burnt to a crisp. The two burgers arrived at the table with all of the things one might like on a burger. They looked great except one was cooked perfectly medium and the other burnt (way past well-done). Just so we're clear. So well done that the charred burger no longer resembled meat inside or out. Now, being from a restaurant owning family, I know that these things can happen. It was not a big deal. So when the waitress returned, we simply asked if it was possible to get one cooked closer to medium. The gracious waitress said no problem and disappeared. 5 minutes later she came back with a message from the chef/owner, "He said, you should have said how you wanted it cooked." A little inappropriate but again, fair enough. And had both burgers came out the same way, we would have understood that this chef believes in extremely well done burgers, but they did not. We apologized for our oversight, demonstrated the difference between the two burgers and asked if it was possible to get one cooked like the medium burger. She saw the difference, acknowledged one was burnt and took the burnt burger into the kitchen. Another 5 minutes go by and the waitress, now completely embarrassed says, "I'm so sorry. He said he will not make you another burger". Shocked, we asked why. To which she replies, "He said it will only come out the same way." And that was it. No offer of something else, no apologies, no customer service whatsoever. The owner's mantra seems to be. "This is how I cook. Eat it, or get out! "To add to our experience, while we were waiting for our change, we overheard the waitress telling another table they only had one and a half racks of ribs in the kitchen. Mind you, we were there before the dinner rush and I use the word rush with optimism. There are other establishments in Allentown. I would highly suggest supporting one that actually appreciates your business. Its as easy as walking across the street - which is what we will do from now on.”
