• I don't live closer to this place.

“I was in town for business last week and the hotel recommended I go here. It was great! Great atmosphere - I ate at the bar. Bartender was very nice, food was excellent. They know service which you can't find anymore. I travel all over the country to big culinary cities and this place seems like it belongs in one of those. Everything was just outstanding and really affordable! Definitely recommended.”

• A tad pricey, but this is really a value for the quality received.

“I completely enjoyed my meal at Vickers Tavern. First off, it's situated in a historic building (once a stop on the underground railroad) and is decorated as one would expect from that period (antiques, gorgeous dark woods, brass accents). The meal was truly delightful. After a drink at the bar, we were escorted to our table in a quaint room with a wonderful fireplace. Our service was truly impeccable - seamless and the staff really anticipated your needs, as opposed to so many venues where you are left wondering who your servers are! My party feasted, to say the least. The cold cart was stocked with varieties of pate, smoked fish, and delicious smoked meats. I had a bit of chicken liver pate, smoked duck (absolutely outstanding) and smoked salmon. Following that, I enjoyed a Caesar salad prepared table side (what an outstanding touch) which was perfectly dressed with a light, yet satisfying dressing. For my main course, I had Dover Sole in a dijon crust (I believe it was a special). This is one of my favorite dishes, and I can easily say that Vickers executed it masterfully. The portion was quite large (and I shouldn't have eaten it all) and was on a bed of creamy risotto. For dessert, everyone in my party enjoyed Bananas Foster, again, prepared table side, and quite delicious. There is also a wide range of both white and red wines, as well as champagne and sparkling wine. My party and I had a wonderful experience at Vickers and I can't wait to return when I'm in the area again.”

• Sometimes service is slow, but worth waiting for....

• Sports on T.V. sets all around
• Cheap, extra charges added on to your bill-WATCH FOR THIS!

“TOO LOUD,too small, charge extra for things like more salad dressing and sour cream. In other words, they give you little food for the money, and charge extra for what you should get in the 1st pace.”
