“Find out for yourself why I have been dining here for the past 5 years and now I have found their lunch menu with the worlds best fried sweet potatoes, crispy and amazingly non greasy. Excellent flounder sandwich. Rack of Lamb on dinner menu. Just a great place in a nice town. I've enjoyed all the Pub menu over the years.”

“I have tried to eat there numerous times in the last couple of years and it was always the same. I sat on the outside deck for 30 minutes with my date and still no one came over with even water or bread. We walked out. Another time it was almost the same wait. Finally we were served and the wait for food was terrible. I will eat anything but even I felt the food was not up to par and the prices are too high for the quality. The ambiance is great with the river views and sights of the Tappan Zee Bridge. I talked to the manager/owner and he said he was short on staff? Every time? What a shame. Great location but terrible restaurant. Maybe go for a drink and find someplace else to eat.”

• Snotty service, claustrophobia-inducing, mirror-lined dining room, overrated & boring food.

“My husband and I made a reservation at Xavier's to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant is overrated, from the food to the service to the atmosphere. It is all tired and outdated. We will never go back.”

• The food wasn't free.

“I was there with 10 family members on a Friday notepad it was great. There was a female vocalist, Gail Newman, who sang her heart out and really gave the place a nice setting. I will be going there at least once a month from now on, for the food and to hear Gail again! Awesome niter out highly recommend!”

“The setting is great, the staff is wonderful, the ambiance is fun/casual/friendly especially if you are a sports fan - and there is a fabulous outdoor patio in both the front and the back (better!) of the restaurant. The negative about this restaurant is the food. It's ok. The burgers are ok. The specials are a bit overpriced and just ok. The salads too much dressing and like much of the rest of the menu way too salty. The chicken on the salads and in the sandwiches is absolutely plastered with salty spices. The salsas are either too dry or too diluted. The chips, plastered in salt. There are few low-carbohydrate choices on the menu and too many fried appetizers. Who in the kitchen is without taste buds and why doesn't the management get a better chef. Its been like this for years now? This place could be a tremendous goldmine if only the food was better!”
