Michaels Steak Chalet

- The view was pretty.
- You can get that view anywhere in Osage Beach, so what?
“The salad was a flat, flavorless, soggy mess of tomatoes, "spring mix" greens combined with iceberg and/or romaine lettuce, cheap, canned black olives, and the lowest quality, bottom-of-the-shelf dressing soaking it all. Add to that a dinner roll straight off the Wonder Bread shelf, wild rice made with canned broth, and a charred black, oversized salt lick of a pork chop. And the service was practically non-existent! The view is not enough to distract from the lack of a chef.”

- Food Quality.
- Smoking permeates the whole restaurant.
“The problem with this restaurant is the same as his other Osage Beach Restaurant. Heavily favors the smoking public. You would think in this day and age, you would recognize the majority of patrons do not smoke, yet here and in his brand new restaurant (you have to walk through the bar to the small no smoking section) he continues to alienate most of his clientele. I ate at Swiss Village but walked out of Michaels 929. Being from this area, I know many others that have the same feeling.”

- LOVE the food bar.
- Don't have a negative.
“I LOVE Shoney's. Every time we come to the lake we eat at Shoney's. The buffet is always fresh, well stocked and the food is wonderful. Kids are welcome and treated as well as the adults. They have the best grits in the country (especially when you put the white gravy on them). You won't be disappointed if you give Shoney's a try. Price is right too.”
