- Feels like a diner.
- Mediocre food & Service.
“After a second visit to Gus', I've decided it is not worth visiting again. The food hit or miss; it is best to order something simple like a hamburger, but the fries that come with is probably are cold and soggy.”

- Nice lighting and comfortable spacious booths.
- Unbelievably awful food ¿ coleslaw.
“I ate dinner here in July of 2006 because it had been recommended. It is a bit hard to find for the average traveler. The nicest part of the experience was the atmosphere - many comfortable booths, plus a fair number of tables. Romantic extremely low lighting. Good waitress and other service. However, I made the mistake of ordering two servings of coleslaw rather than French fries with my seafood because I was trying to trim calories. This was absolutely the worse coleslaw I have ever had in my entire life and it was basically inedible. I ate a few bites and stopped. It was not your typical coleslaw of any southern variety I have tried in many states. It was basically gooey green slime and I am even surprised they would serve something so awful. The cabbage, what I could taste of it was stale, and it was suspended in something like mayonnaise soup, that was slimy and repulsive. I would have given the restaurant a higher rating except for this awful coleslaw which never should have been served to any living human. The seafood I had was reasonably good; however I considered all the entrees overpriced (most well over $20) for what is basically a fairly ordinary restaurant. I had been told this was a family restaurant, but the prices are basically for an adult splurge. If you want the soft lit atmosphere and neighborly feel of the restaurant and have no problems with the prices, then just stay away from the coleslaw.”
