Ponderosa Steakhouse

- Usually it is better than this.
- Servers should assist people rather than stand around.
“Three of us went to Ponderosa, Friday, October 31, 2008. We had seen one of the servers in the parking lot taking her break. We paid for our food, sat down, got our food and ate half of it. Never once did anybody come to bring our drinks. I finally got up and got two of the drinks. I couldn't find any ice tea so had to ask the person that took our money for the ice tea. Since the ice tea was warm, I went and got ice. Still nobody came to our table to assist. I won't be going back any time soon. When we left, the server was back into the parking lot having another break.”

Whitlow's Forerunner Restaurant

Overall Rating: 10

Atmosphere:[10]
- I was very impressed with the Tourist Information Nook packed with information and a local paper.
- Go down the hall and ask them to check and lock all of the 1st floor windows in the hotel.
“The food was great, healthy proportions, a good selection of vegetables, pleasing even the most finicky eater adult or child. Nothing was impossible making it easy to have the add-ons I prefer with my enter. Even the request for hot chocolate and coffee (Mocha) was perfectly balanced. I was most surprised and pleased that I did not have to ask the server for a refill. That alone made the meals a treat. It was fun sitting there enjoying the stuffed animals in the glass room just to my left, and various stuffed fish around the restaurant. All meals were bountiful, more than I expected. The location just off a major highway makes it accessible to everywhere. I most enjoyed the karaoke DJ while waiting for my food when I wanted carry out. Even though the El Royal Hotel was just down the hall, the way the food was packaged and secured, there was no dripping mess when I returned to the room. I was sorry for not taking my camera to capture the pictures of the recently captured animals. I am saying romantic for a specific reason. I would eat and stay there again. I think it should be called or tagged an all in one center as the place has excellent meeting, conference, banquet facilities without going outside. Small workshop or seminar participants would do well recommending this eatery and the complex for their next trip or meeting please.”

- Good with refills. Excellent food and nachos.
- Not the greatest crowd (crummy, but safe), a bit smoky.
“Flamingos have come a long way in redecorating. It still may be considered a little "hole in the wall" place but my family and I agree, the best wet burrito in Muskegon!”

- The sweaters were pleasant. Appeared to be a clean atmosphere.
- Almost everything else¿
“Servers were more interested in talking in groups rather then taking care of guests. Our mixed drinks were poorly made. Tasted more like pop than anything else. Just did not enjoy my experience¿”
