• Food, staff, and location.
• Ambiance (at first anyway - all the positives make this bearable).

“Love G's cafe. The food is down-to-earth. Nothing fancy, but yummy. Love their tuna melt, hamburgers, and stuffed tomato. Their wait staff is the best. They remember each return customer and their likes/dislikes, etc. What other restaurant has staff like that? So personable. Love it when G's comes around, and talks to the customers. Doesn't get any better than this!”

• The coffee.
• Nothing.

“Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and great coffee. The building as it was 100 years ago. Very historic. If your in the area, definitely worth checking out.”

• Good location.
• Owners and staff lack service skills.

“Although, they can mix a good drink they seem to pick and choose their favorite customers to make that drink. They even charge for a lime slice in their drinks. The menu rarely changes and the food is less than desirable. The owners are extremely rude and are very mean to their wait staff. I can safely make all these statements as I live nearby and try every few months to give them a 2nd chance but they never change.”

• Great atmosphere, great coffee, huge large size. .
• Limited seating.

“Avant Garden is in a delightfully charming historic building in downtown Anoka. Except for the modern coffee making equipment behind the counter and the free Wi-Fi, you might think you'd stepped back in time 100 years. It's warm, cozy, and friendly. Be thirsty if you order a large coffee, because when they say large, they mean large! Oh yeah, they taste great too.”
