• Extensive dessert tray.
• Smoky atmosphere, poor food quality.

“We are big fans of Salvatore Scallopini's in Birmingham, Warren, and Flint. We were in this neck of the woods and decided to stop in for what we assumed would be more of the same - great pasta, wonderful bread, nice atmosphere. This place is small and smoky! We got there and found the Manager/Owner smoking cigars at the bar (for the entire two hours we were there - and the bar is right next to all the tables due to the tiny size of this place. The portions were much smaller than other Scallopini's. The spaghetti noodles are like small, flat fettucine and overcooked. The sauces are not comparable to other Scallopini's (their "spicy" arrabiata tastes like a bland marinara). The bread was horrible, more like wonder bread than the delicious bakery-style Italian bread at other Scallopini's. The bar also has a tv to add to the "dive-like" atmosphere that is nothing like the romantic, authentic Italian ambiance at the other Scallopini's. Don't bother wasting money and calories here (while breathing second-hand smoke).”
