• Nice location.
• hostess was snooty. Won't go there again

“Location is very nice. Food is good, but nothing special. Staff attitude ranged from good to very poor. Very pretentious. Food and staff don't live up to expectations. There are better restaurants in Oakland.”

• Nothing positive to say. It was a terrible experience.
• I am 60 years old and this was the worst I have ever been treated at a supposedly upscale restaurant. We will never return.

“My wife made reservations weeks in advance for a party of eight who were coming into Oakland from three different states. She called about one week prior to the date of our arrival and confirmed our reservations. The evening the eight of us arrived at the Cornish Manor, we were told by the hostess we did not have reservations and that they were booked. We explained we had called weeks in advance to make the reservations and had checked to ensure we had reservations a week before our arrival. She simply said, "Well you don't have reservations now." When we asked to speak to the manager, the female hostess became belligerent stating it would not make a difference since we didn't have reservations. She was close to calling us liars. The hostess went into the kitchen and when she returned she told us she had spoken with the owner and he said there was nothing he could do. Another employee came out from the kitchen and told me she found where we had called but it was not recorded in the reservations book. This did not matter to the hostess who became argumentative and even more rude. The owner never came out to speak to us. This was a terrible experience for our entire group and we will never go to that restaurant again. I left my business card for the owner and asked that he call me. He never did. Extremely poor performance on the part of the hostess and the owner.”
