- Nothing like it in the area!
- Sporadic service/food delivery; no split checks (or was this just our waitress.).
“I have to say I was moderately disappointed with our experience, having read the other glowing reviews of this restaurant. The experience was not bad; it was just less than I had really hoped. We come to the area once a year, and I was happy to see sushi coming to this area. We visited on a Sunday for dinner. Btw almost nothing else is open in the area on Sunday, so plan accordingly. There were certainly no problems getting a table. Just don't expect to make it an afternoon of sightseeing, followed by dinner. The restaurant has a good decor. Eclectic, casual, and fun. There was only one other table of guests while we were there. The menu is very inviting. An interesting mix of pan pacific cuisines. I am a fanatic sushi nut, so I was eager to try their sushi. I found the sushi to be slightly better than average, but didn't knock my socks off. It was definitely acceptable, but Ive had better many times in many different places. I believe everyone else in our party was satisfied with the quality. My only two complaints were the service and a particular "restaurant policy." The service was very slow, especially given the fact that there were only two tables with guests. We had a party of two families four adults and three young children (6 10 you.). Food came out sporadically (happens sometimes with sushi. But shouldn't happen in any restaurant with only 6 7 guests eating sushi). The children rec'd their food (simple, previously frozen kid food, as I recall) after the adults. We had drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts/coffees. It made for a long night, but we weren't in a hurry. My problem with policy no splitting of checks. This is a pet peeve of mine. Sure, upscale places believe it is uncouth to split checks. This is not an upscale place. Casual atmosphere. The most common rationale (and the one given to me by the waitress) is that the kitchen has trouble timing the orders. Well, that obviously was a problem anyway, even without splitting our check. Obviously, they just don't like to bother with this little extra effort. So. This wasn't a huge problem for us, but it was an annoyance. Prices were ok. Some items I would consider slightly high, but comparable to the more yuppie sty. Michaels area. We will more than likely return next year, since there is only a limited assortment of interesting restaurants in the area, and the rest of the menu did look good. I feel I almost have to give it another chance the food certainly wasn't bad. You might want to stick to a smaller group size though.”

“We live in D.C. and go out all the time. This was an amazing find. Started off great and just got better. The place was packed and we sat at the bar. The hostess was extremely kind and so were the guys at the bar. We had drinks at the bar-best pom martini said my wife! Then got a table and did sushi and entree's, both comparable to the best we'd had out in the city. Can't wait to bring friends and family. Thanks General ”
