• The owner is there every night and always comes by your table to ask how things are.
• Nothing is negative about it.

“It is a hidden Gem. The food is spectacular! The overall feel of the restaurant is cozy, but very classy. Always have live Jazz that is just loud enough you can hear, but not so loud that you have to speak over it. A wonderful place to dine.”

“Over priced and underfed. Small drinks and food portions. Many people thing the more you pay the better the cuisine then they will like this restaurant. So many more interesting restaurants with better pricing and more food.”

• The location - Newburyport is great.
• Not responding to customer concerns.

“When we went to have dinner there they sat us at a table by the bar. It was loud and everyone continued to bump our table throughout our meal. My fish was under cook and the waiter was obviously pre-occupied. We told him our concerns and he said that he would take care of things, such as a lemon was served with our corona, missing veggies with our meal. I gave the Grog a chance to redeem them by writing a letter describing our experience and they ignored it. I guess they have enough customers that losing two means nothing. I will not go back there.”

• It is every thing a place should be.
• They won't take a reservation at the bar after 7PM.

“What a gem, small, intimate, live jazz and standards every night with a real caring for local food with an Italian touch. The menu runs from $14 to $28, with white table cloths and a very professional staff. I have been three times, all great..”
