“There are, in fact, few restaurants beyond fast food. All the critical reviews on The Landing are accurate: poor food, very poor service, which is a surprise because it is the one thing owners could correct quickly, and the food served is overpriced.”

• The hamburger steak-none like it.
• Cant think of having any and we eat there at least once a week.

“I live here in Natchitoches where there are many fine restaurants but my favorite for lunch is Laxyone's. During the week they have a lunch and you can pick from the entree and 2 to3 vegetables. This is no "heat a can of beans in a hurry restaurant". All the food is cooked that morning with real ingredients, and all are wonderful. My favorite is the hamburger steak with onions, maybe some cabbage, red beans and rice, Cole slaw. I change the vegetables once in a while, but why mess with success. I can see why they're internationally known. Real good southern cooking.”

• Dining room can be chilly at times.

“I ate at every restaurant in Natchitoches and hands down the Crawfish Hole has the best food. It is located a little away from the main street but it is definitely worth checking out. Every time I go home to Shreveport, La. I always exit off the interstate to eat some great food.”
