- Great beer, excellent food, friendly service, very comfortable setting.
- Too many beer styles makes the choice difficult.
“Ate there for lunch with a business associate. Service was quick and friendly. Chicken Verde was very tasty and rich. House made rice was excellent. The place is very clean. Locally owned restaurant with varied menu. Large selection of beers brewed on the premises. Lighter beer selections.”

- They serve burgers made the old fashioned way, not frozen wafers.
- It's tight inside (5 Booths), so if you want a seat (not in your car) get there early.
“This is the ultimate flash back to the drive-ins of old. They are a Topeka landmark and have been in business for more than a half century. They were recently featured on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" and for good reason. They still make burgers with a burger press and their Apple pies (amazing) are still made fresh every day. Don't go here if you're on a diet, but do go here if you want great burgers and rings the way that they were meant to be made, and whatever you do. Don't miss out on the apple pie!”

- Nothing.
- Allegations of racism.
“We are boycotting Spanky's. Here is the message being passed around. In this lovely business of entertainment that we are in, we come across some plain flat out ignorant people. I would have to say during my time in this business Ive seen clubs rise in which their owners get rich and watched them fall as they have to sell all their assets just to eat. Just recently we were negotiating a Wednesday night at Sharky's here in Topeka. They wanted us to do some suspect retro 80's night at their bar. Their owner was very direct in saying that he didnt want any hip hop music played at his club because "he didnt want black people at his club". I was raised to respect mans opinion even if he's wrong. It's really sad to see in this day and age that people are still very narrowing minded and ignorant in their views. As a club owner myself we welcome everyone wither black, white, red, yellow, orange or blue. Green is the only color you should be concerned with. And for the crowds that Ive seen at your club it doesnt look you will be seeing much of this color. So I wish you luck with your racist establishment you wont be getting any business from my community or the people I reach and Im like united nations over here. The people that I reach look just like you too.”

- Place looked nice.
- Food, servers, manager. All terrible. Took over 2 1/2 hours to get our entree!
“First off, the food was absolutely terrible! Three tables in our row got up and walked out without paying for not getting any service or, when they did get their food it was terrible. The rib eye was dry, burnt, and chewy and the waiter tried to tell us rib eye is supposed to be chewy because of all the fat. Other tables complained of the same thing. Requested medium, but it came back well-well done. Waiter took it back then came back a second later saying he gave me someone else¿s steak by accident. It was just as done. The waiter asked if I was okay with it anyway though. $18 bucks for a way over done steak, no way! The table next to us had gotten up 10 minutes before us because of the same issue! A family of four got up and left an hour and half into their meal because they had not received their entree or refills on their drinks. Our waiter said he had to cook because the chefs "were not on their game tonight". The manager came by, looked at us smugly and just walked away. No help, no apology! This was the worst place I have ever been too! The environment is nice (except for the waiters yelling at the kitchen staff in front of everyone).”
