• Portion sizes and excellent service.
• Fried foods were more greasy than most.

“Good food but some drawbacks. The fried chicken and perch are famous and certainly tasty but we found them to be a bit greasy. The chicken plate is only 13.95 but the chicken and fish is 21 bucks! The meal includes soup or juice, house salad or relish plate (Cole slaw, cottage cheeses, and beets), rice or potato, and even ice cream. The stuffed mushrooms are a real plate full, really best for 4 people. Service is prompt and very friendly. I could see where they might have lines - lots of banquets and parties. There was a banquet of about 600 people there in a separate room when we visited.”

• Love the staff, food, and atmosphere.
• Nothing.

“Great atmosphere and great food. They also have another dining room in dyer, in and 4 other pickup and delivery locations. They have been in business for over 40 years.”

• The satanic was good.
• Everything else was horrible.

“There were at least 3 long blonde hairs in my soup! I was disgusted! My husband cancelled our order and we were still charged for the drinks that we didn't even drink! They even tried to charge us for the hairy soup! That was the most ridiculous dining experience I've ever had.”

• Excellent in General, Food & Atmosphere.
• Wait on Food, Use it for good conversation.

“A little restaurant but plant of flavor. Once seated be prepared to wait a bit for your food (Couples with young children who are antsy may not like it), but this will give you plenty of time to converse with your party and enjoy the atmosphere with the wonderful art and music. Make sure you bring your appetite and get ready for an explosion of tastes on your tongue. I recommend going with the full entry, not the buffet. ”

• The hamburgers were very large.
• The service was horrible, food cold, and the whole restaurant reeks of smoke. Not suitable for children.

“Although the food servings were ample and appear good, they were served room temperature both times Dec 2005 and Aug 2005, my family and I frequented Scoops. There is a small non-smoking section, but it is so small it barely makes a difference as the bulk of the restaurant seems to be filled with cigar and cigarette smoking senior citizen or middle aged males. Both times we complained to the staff my six year old has asthma. The last time, people were actually smoking in the tiny non smoking section we were told it is a seat yourself restaurant and those people had rights too. A middle aged lady who identified herself as the owners sister told us if we didn't like it we could leave. Such hospitality in Indiana! I would never recommend Scoops Hamburgers in Somerville's. They are horrible.”
