- Great service and outstanding food!
- Noise level is loud.
“Wow! The Red Crow Grille was outstanding! My husband and I were in the area to play golf and were trying to find a great place to dine via the internet. What a surprise it was to find such a wonderful restaurant. Our waiter was friendly and very helpful. He was able to answer all our questions and make good recommendations. The food was out of this world. The presentation of each course was beautiful and every dish was so delicious. The only negative was the level of noise, but it is a sign of the place to eat. If we are ever in the area again, we will certainly dine there.”

- Food and service are excellent.
- Not being able to get enough of outstanding hospitality they give.
“Started going to Ross's maid rite in the late 40's with my father and have never quit going. Ross was one to listen to for about anything going on around town and him and his staff just made their food taste that much better by listening to them. I have traveled the world over but I always come back to the Quad cities at least once a year or so and Ross's is always the first place I stop for the famous "Ross burger". Their chili is one to be had and everyone needs to try it at least one time and you will find yourself coming back many more times for it. The service is outstanding right along with all their food.”

- Food is great.
- Snobby, nose in the air.
“As we checked in upon our arrival, the manager/owner actually looked past us to greet the people that came in behind us. Then a man came in, asking to check out the menu for a party of four for later. He was treated as if his inquiry was an imposition and the attitude suggested that they couldn't possibly have an opening later in the evening for them. We elected to keep our coats, which was met with quite a bit of disdain. We were seated at a corner booth, big enough for four but impossible to hear even the person sitting next to you over the piano playing in the background. The decor is somewhat decked out cabaret with large (an understatement) clamshell booths anchoring the dining area. It does not do anything to highlight the stellar food. Our starter plate (spicy shrimp served with a mango/tequila sauce that we didn't know if we should drink or pour over the shrimp and finally had to distract the server in order to find out) was removed before our order was taken. Food was very good, especially for the quad cities. Bill was $150, including tip. (Not bad for an amuse-bouche, appetizer, salad, entree, desert and wine of this caliber.) Have been here several times and would love to keep going back, but each time have had to put up with extreme attitudes, to the point that it is becoming a running joke. Life is just too short!”

“If you like the smell of a scented candle in the lobby, this is your restaurant. Why on earth would a chef want this to compete with his food? The menus contained smoked something on nearly every dish, and this taste wiped out any hope of tasting any subtle flavors. Creamed cauliflower was bland, heirloom tomatoes were drowned in aged balsamic which obliterated the taste of the tomatoes, the vegetarian entree (the only one, how annoying) was pathetic. Too creamy, too rich but without any blend of spices-the only thing I could taste were the smoked mushrooms. Salmon was neither well cooked nor presented. Hard to believe the Red Crow is considered one of the best in the Quad Cities. I'd rather go to the Olive Garden where I know I'm going to have taste and consistency every time.”

- Classic diner, outstanding food, excellent value.
- Still allows smoking (I said classic!)
“Hello hot and spicy chili! Ross' is a truck-stop, greasy-spoon original. The food is fantastic, from fried chicken to cinnamon rolls to the signature Magic Mountain. I lived in the Q-C all my life but didn't really discover this place until I had my wedding at The Abbey. I had guests from all over the world eating there more than once. Open whenever you are hungry, serving just about whatever you want, don't miss Ross'. It's a great value, the service is always good, and it is one of the last of its kind. It is as good as I say it is. And that chili is REALLY hot! I mean it!”
