• Staff very willing to work with my food issues with a very positive, cheerful attitude.
• Nothing.

“I am lactose intolerant, allergic to MSG, phosphates, other chemical preservatives and flavor enhancers. I have been refused service in some other restaurants because of all of my food issues. I have explained my issues at other restaurants, requesting no butter and then the steamed veges are served to me dripping with butter. I explained all this in detail to the wait staff at La Vigna and they were more than happy to help me find items on their menu without butter or cheese, or anything else that might give me a problem. Their service was exceptional. The chicken grilled with olive oil was excellent, the angel hair pasta and steamed broccoli were done to perfection. And their freshly made sorbets with no milk for us who happen to be lactose intolerant are to die for! I left this restaurant very happy and satisfied and I highly recommend it.”

• Good food, large portions, great atmosphere.
• Expensive, not open till 5pm.

“Pretty expensive. Would be nice if it were open earlier in the day.”

• Marvelous steaks, chops, lobster in friendly environment.
• The lobster - though terrific, is expensive, as quality lobster is these days.

“Everything you can produce on a grill and more -- great lobster, prime steaks -- are consistently, wonderfully tasty. You are not likely to find better prime rib anywhere. The portions are large, and cooked to your specifications, with perfection. You never feel rushed or disappointed. The restaurant isn't quiet, but it can be romantic in the upper corner tables. Full Disclosure - we live within walking distance of this marvelous establishment.”

• Specials, fresh seafood, wine list, bread, desserts & service.
• Tired decor, old 70's supper club feel.

“Excellent food! What a find in the little Oregon ill. This restaurant cut my back my regular trek out to the 'barbs to get a good meal! Good wine list. Fresh bread is excellent. Food not over sauced and sauce is fresh. The cinnamon gelato is second to none!”

• Not a discouraging word.
• Probably owing to the small community it serves, the wine list is somewhat abbreviated.

“It's amazing to find this jewel of a restaurant near the equal jewel of a small town - Oregon, ill. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is friendly, the service is attentive, and the food is simply wonderful. This restaurant would be a hit in san Francisco or Philadelphia or new York. Wide variety of steaks and seafood, and wonderful side dishes and daily specials. We've visited laving at least once a month for five years and have never had a bad experience with food or service. Stop reading and go try it yourself.”
