• Great pasta; tender chicken and veal; generous drinks; delicious. Easy to find.
• Several small parking lots; have to check them all when it's busy. Waiting area is small, but they have a bar area as well (about 12 seats).

“For travelers, this restaurant is close to a major highway, Rte 94, and on a major road, Waukegan, Rte 43. When it's busy it's really busy, but on slow nights when it's quieter it can be very romantic. The pastas are wonderfully seasoned, the chicken and veal meals are tender; pizzas range from thick to very thin and are very memorable; drinks are well made. The decor is reminiscent of an Italian family's apartment. Lots of big booths, dark woods, and soothing lighting create a pleasant, romantic atmosphere. Very popular with the locals--even with so many restaurants to choose from in this area. Try the Mostaccioli Madeleine, Whitefish Al Forno (fantastic for garlic lovers), or chicken franchise or picatta--to name a few. Hey make their own salad dressings to accompany their huge side salads--full of flavor, nothing artificial! Olive oil and parmesan on every table. It's been consistent over many years, and the decor just gets better and better. Family owned by the Ton Elli's; many same servers have been there for a very long time. A really great meal for a good price.”

• Atmosphere, wait staff, and these make the price a negative.

“A great meal but you cannot compare this Ruth to downtown Chicago or Indianapolis. The food is good but the service and atmosphere is not good.....if enjoy being undeserved and rushed. This is a place for you....a new manager would go a long way.”
