Luccheses Italian Deli

Overall Rating: 5

Atmosphere:[6]
- The food was tasty.
- Incredibly poor service, small portions, and a bit expensive for what you get.
“While the food is pretty tasty, the service is horrible. My friend, who had never been there before, placed his order and before the order got to the kitchen needed to revise it. The woman stormed into the kitchen and said, "This idiot out here doesn't know what he wants," and more than half of the dining room heard her. We received no assistance from the management. Instead, we were told, "Oh, she's always like that." Never again will I set foot in that restaurant.”

- Excellent value for good food at a reasonable price.
- Smoke from the bar area was apparent.
“My wife is Italian. Every tear we visit Notre Dame for a football game. This year we found Antonio's and what a pleasant surprise. Real Italian food in a relaxed atmosphere. Food was very good. Highly recommend. We will visit again next year.”

- Food presentation not high art, but well thought out
- Noise level sometimes distracting
“Was recently in Elkhart for a visit and returned to one of my favorite "neighborhood joints." When I lived in Elkhart Lucchese's served up (arguably) the best of Italiamerican cuisine. At the time, I thought they could not improve on their selection. I was mistaken. They have taken their food to a new level. If you dine there on a Friday or Saturday (as we did) be sure to call ahead for a table. It can be a bit of a wait without a reservation. Weekend specials are particularly good. If you're lucky, you might find a scallop or prawn appetizer on the menu. If there is, order it and trust the chef. You wont regret it. Everything was great but the chops & steaks are outstanding. Service is friendly yet professional. The open kitchen allows diners a bit of a show, seeing and hearing the commotion as their food is prepared. All in all, a very good experience.”
