- The food is fantastic.
- The table and silverware were dirty, these little details do matter.
“My husband and I went on a Wednesday afternoon around 5:00 pm. They were not busy and we were seated righted away. I am a stickler for clean tables and silverware, especially if I am paying top dollar for the food and service. The table needed to be cleaned better and I had to ask for a new set of silverware as mine were dirty with some kind of sticky substance on the back of the fork. We found the atmosphere to be rather neutral, nothing wrong with that. We ordered the NY Ruby Martinis to start and we both thought they were perfect, not too sweet and not too dry. My husband had the filet and ordered the asparagus as a side. He stated this was the best filet he has ever had and believe me the man has eaten many a steak over the years! I ordered the Citrus Salad and the Applewood Bacon Wrapped Jumbo Sea Scallops. Both dishes were fantastic and I can not wait to go back. I would have given a score of a perfect 10 except for the dirty table and silverware, which dropped the score to an 8 overall. The prices are high, so be prepared to spend a good dollar when you go and you really should check out this little gem in Algonquin.”

- A true downtown feel and food that surpasses.
- Hard to get a table on the weekends.
“I frequent mantra quite much. I am thoroughly satisfied each time I visit. Some may say the price is a touch high but you can not judge this on all the "chilies, and apples" restaurants which a lot of people are used; to or base prices on. Listen if you want cuisine not food mantra is the place. They utilize the most unique ingredients and preparation styles, you feel like you are downtown Chicago. Mathis restaurant is basically of that caliber do your self a favor, put down that greasy chain restaurant hamburger and visit mantra and taste food the way its is mint to be.”

- Open 24 hours.
- Often populated by teenagers.
“Pretty good food for a pretty good price, and you can stay as long as you want even if you just order a drink. The only bad thing is that it is the only place which is open for 24 hours in Borings Ville IL, and so teens who want to feel rebellious sneak out and head to Steak n Shake. ”

- Food was good.
- Ala cart menu makes it more expensive.
“While the value for what you get is good, it is quite expensive. If you go with the mindset of a special occasion/expensive, you will be ok with paying the high bill. Their food was great!”

- Really good food, really good atmosphere.
- Price.
“VERY good cheese dogs and cheese fries. My girlfriend really likes pretty much everything she eats there. The only negative is the price $7.50 or so for a couple of plain cheese dogs, fries with a side of cheese and a medium drink? A little pricey if you ask me but I keep going back!”
