• Lousy wine list also.

“Pollo tropical is a south fl fast food chain that serves the best chicken off the grill. It's always been fresh and tasty. Their chicken based soup is wonderful. All dishes are low cost with a Caribbean motif. their vegetable selection is somewhat limited unless you like plantain etc. you now can get curly fries. The only green is Caesar salad which is fresh and nicely done. It's a great value and delicious. better than many pricey places and amazing for fast food. I actually looked forward to lunches there and I do not customarily eat fast foods.”

• The cold mixed seafood salad is heavenly.

“I grew up in a close knit Italian community (East Harlem, NYC) where good food was to be found at home and in a few local restaurants. Heard one of our own. Bobby Pellegrino opened up a restaurant in Deer field called Pellegrino's Restaurant. Guys from the old neighborhood as well as other parts of NYC Little Italy's in Brooklyn, Bronx, etc had been visiting South Bronx, had dinner at Pellegrino's and couldn't stop talking about their experience. So a couple of years ago decided to try it myself. Unbelievable! I had not had food like that since my Grandparent's holiday spreads. Real Southern Italian dishes unheard of in most Italian restaurants but not uncommon at family dinners. But it was not only the food it's the whole atmosphere of the place. Staff is quite friendly with the warmth one only sees amongst close friends in the old neighborhood. In fact many of the staff are from NYC and are glad to chat about people and places we all had in common. Needless to say, service was outstanding. Walls are peppered with photos of places and people long gone but still holding a special spot in our hearts and minds. Music on the juke box is fantastic ranging from candy store doo-wops to rat-pack favorites. Even though it was just for a few hours. I felt it all took me back to a wonderful place in the long gone past. From that point on my Florida trip is not complete unless I've had a meal or two at Pellegrino's. Try it and you will find it a most unforgettable experience. Pricey?”

“Atmosphere was GREAT! Food and service was good. Lamb chop special was tasty and cooked correctly. Great place for visitors to Deerfield Beach.”

“Food and atmosphere were nothing short of a "10" it is a cozy, warm and friendly establishment. I am from R.I., where we pride ourselves with excellent restaurants, so to find a place away from home with great food and 'Class" to boot is a joy.”
