Starlite Diner

Overall Rating: 1

Atmosphere:[7]
- Nice shiny building.
- Worst food in the world.
“Had the Mom's meatloaf, it was the worst meatloaf I have ever had. To call it dog food is unfair to Alpo. The mashed potatoes were well cooked and seasoned but the gravy was package gravy that was solid glop of goo. Green beans out of a can nicely seasoned. Waitress was nice. I would never go back. Was empty when I walked in and I should have taken the clue.”

- A pleasant dining experience. Visited on more than one occasion.
- Beer a bit pricey.
“I kept hearing Hog Heaven and Charlie Horse before I visited Daytona. I tried both. For portion size and taste it was Hog Heaven by a mile. Not one for the veggies though.”

- Chrome interior and car pictures.
- Food.
“I had 3-egg omelet with veggies & cheese. Cheese was cold, peppers and tomatoes were stale and old. The omelet itself was thin and oily, not fluffy. My friends had egg, hash browns and it was ok. So food was edible.”

Pat's Riverfront Cafe

- Good food, nice folks, worth the wait for seating on weekends.
- A small place, quite crowded on weekends, could probably use a good scrubbing.
“I was at Pat's twice for breakfast while in the Daytona area in September. It's not the place to go for ambiance, and it certainly is no-frills, but if you want some good down-home Southern food with some friendly folks serving and cooking this is your place. Decent portions of good tasting food for very reasonable prices. The creamed chipped beef on toast was so good I ordered it on my second visit too, and our party pretty much spent the second meal tasting everyone's breakfast choices; all of which were just plain good cooking. This place is definitely worth going to for a good, down-home style meal.”

Adobe Gilas Of Daytona

- Chips were crispy - waitress refilled our waters and drinks often.
- Everything else.
“We stayed at the Ocean Walk Resort- and came to Adobe Gilas to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant is hot - like the AC has something wrong with it - and condensation was dripping from the AC vents onto us. The Guacamole was unlike anything I had ever seen - brown and it was expensive almost $8.00 for the Guacamole and chips. Our party of 6 ordered various items. My son had ordered Steak Quesadilla - chicken was brought. But the chips were crispy - we just wish we'd had some salsa or something. My brother had the tacos - he is a human dumpster - will eat anything - and he had a hard time choking down the chicken. But he and my son ate most of their meals. I ordered the salad with bacon, chicken, and some sort of mexi-ranch dressing. Bacon was non-existent, chicken was so bad I took one bite and spit it into a napkin (dark brown - like it had sat in marinade for a year). I picked the avocado out of the salad and ate it- that was it. The salad dressing was so bland it tasted like water. My son & brother were the only people in our parties that ate their meals - the rest of us picked and ate the veggies and such out of the plates. My son and brother both became very ill - my son was sick all night and the next day to the point we could not leave. My brother became sick, but not as bad - and had to leave and go home in his car. This place nearly ruined my vacation.”
