• Anxious to please, by personalizing service and not insisting on menu.
• Fixed menu on New Year's Eve which is the only night I wouldn't go.

“It was pricey but, in our view, one of the best anywhere so it's a good value. Business travelers might consider.”

• Consistently great food and drink.
• Only negative I could come up with is limited handicapped access to my knowledge.

“Always look forward to visiting Matzaluna on at least one or more times during every annual visit to Sanibel. The food is consistently excellent with more than ample portions. The atmosphere is family friendly for those preferring an earlier dinner hour and it is romantic as well in the waning hours. Wait staff has always been consistently friendly yet professional and knowledgeable of all items on the menu. The bisque is to die for! The serving sizes from the bar are substantial as well. Would highly recommend this restaurant be added to everyone's must go to list when on Sanibel or in the Fort Myers area.”

• Bread pudding sounded good on the menu but I never got to taste it, salad (because you can't mess up salad).
• Everything else.

“Terrible! The hostess was nice, but the waitress was just the worst! She took forever to take our order (took two other tables orders before ours even though we were there first). Salad was good except that she took it away while we were still eating it. We told her were weren't done, but she ignored us. I ordered the coconut shrimp. It was cold, bland and soggy. For desert, my boyfriend ordered their famous bread pudding, she said sure, walked away and fifteen minutes later, brought our check but no bread pudding. We were going to walk out earlier before we ordered, but I really wanted the bread pudding. Unfriendly, inattentive, the worst experience I've ever had.”

• Will make dishes to order that you like.
• Really nothing (honest).

“One of the best on Sanibel. Been there a dozen times. Always fresh and excellent Italian food. The kind we are always looking for away from home and rarely find outside of a very few big cities. Maybe the most authentic Italian in the entire state (no kidding) real Italian chef. Extremely consistent. "Love it".”

• Coconut shrimp was very good.
• Atmosphere of this restaurant does not match the atmosphere of the surrounding mariNA .

“We attempted to have dinner here during spring break (1st wk in April 2007) we were turned away at 7 pm and informed that they were closing at 8 pm and they weren't taking anyone else for dinner that evening. We went back at 5 pm a few days later and we were not impressed. It felt like a high school cafeteria. They cram in as many seats as possible. I could not get into my seat b/c it was so close to the seat behind me. Lots of noise and poor service.”
