• Being on the St. John's River, Wild life & cold beer.
• Service was slow and food was served cold.

“I have visited Gators 4 times. 3 of the 4 (including today), the service was slow and food came 45 Minutes after ordering and was cold. Wait staff seemed confused and would disappear for long periods at a time. Thought the poor service/food the 2 previous times were flukes, but I guess not. Did see a small Gator while eating, best part of the meal.”

• Great food, music and atmosphere.
• No liquor drinks.

“Gators riverside grille is a great place to stop if your boating down the St. Johns river or coming home from the beach. They always have great food, service and some of the best bands, duos and soloist playing up on the stage. If you've never been gators, you need to give it a try the view of the river is great.”

• Food was ok, tea was good.
• Portions and service was definitely under average. Prices were too high for portions.

“My wife and I love to try different places. We stopped at Mel's, what a disappointment. We ordered the dinner meal, but the portions were lunch sized at best. Our salads came on a small saucer with a very small portion of lettuce and the potatoes were childlike portions. Usually when you order a chopped steak, the steak itself is a fair sized portion but both of our steaks were very small. The service was mediocre at best, they did not keep up with beverage re-fills and were not very friendly. The two small pieces of pie were good with ice cream, but added ten dollars to our bill. They must treat their locals differently, otherwise I don't know how they stay in business. Bottom line, if you're hungry I suggest you go down the street where you'll get your money's worth.”

• Wait staff is very friendly.
• Temperature cold, noise level high, seating uncomfortable.

“I have had great service here and the food is usually very good. The atmosphere is chaotic and loud. I won't meet another couple there again, because it simply isn't possible to carry on a conversation, even in the addition which they had recommended for that purpose. It is also kept very cold throughout the restaurant and even with a jacket I, and others who have been with me on previous visits, became so cold we were physically uncomfortable (in pain). Also, the food gets cold rapidly too. Some of the seating is exceedingly uncomfortable; the booths are generally adequate.”

• Food, atmosphere and service are fabulous!
• Need to advertise more and let everybody know where you are located.

“The food and scenery of the St. John's River are out of this world. This is the "Old Florida" and a "must visit" if your in the Sanford area. If you want to eat good food and sit right on the edge of the river, then this is the place.”
