Jan's Place Inc

- The best breakfast in Martin, St Lucie and Palm Beach Counties!
- Can't get a table sometimes because the secret is out!
“The only people who would complain about the portion sizes at Jan's are people that want to split a meal and still take some home. Tremendous value in the south Florida tourist market. The banana chocolate chip is my favorite, but the blueberry and raspberry are awesome as well. I regularly have these loaves of bread sent to me cross county. At $10 a loaf, it separates people who know good food from people who think they should get everything free or have price. Jan's Rocks!”

- Everything, including the fruit dips. Wish I had the recipe.
- Having to leave the area.
“We have a time share and every other year we change for visitant beach club on Jensen island just to return to Jan's place. We found Jan's on our first visit her and we keep coming back. We brought many family and friends here and everybody was more than satisfied.”

- Large windows, beautiful new dining rooms, the bathrooms almost a work of art with etched stained glass.
- Less than the usual generous portions, expensive, less than the quality of food we remember before.
“My husband and I lived in Stuart, an adjoining community for 11 years and Jan¿s was a staple, especially for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere was a little on the funky side, colorful and eclectic, a household refrigerator against one of the dining room walls. But the food could only be described as fabulous. And the portions huge. Recently, Jan¿s underwent a facelift. Hardwood floors, everything spic and span, beautiful! However, we were disappointed to find the food flat, expensive, and half the previous portion. One of our favorites was always the grouper Reuben, a thick piece of grouper with homemade coleslaw between two pieces of grilled Texas toast with melted Swiss. The sandwich was enough for two. And fabulous the copy we just had was a flat filet on marbled rye which was further insulted by the soggy coleslaw which made it hard to pick up. And all for $9.95! The chicken soup tasted like dish water with no flavor - my husband put it aside and didn¿t finish it. We tried a few more times but frankly were disappointed. The prices are way up and the old Jan¿s touch is way down. I will say that breakfast is still good but the price now matches the quantity .take me back to the funky little place on the corner with abundant and delicious fare. Two breakfasts plus a $10.00 loaf of muffin bread (same for muffins or bread. we had peach and had to hunt for the peaches) came to $42.00. As much as we loved the old Jan¿s, we're taking a second look at the new version and that look is in the other direction. This is not the Jan¿s we remember.”
