- Menu, food, atmosphere, location.
- One waiter and servers.
“Our party of 6 had an arrogant waiter who, while busy, took at least 15 minutes to bring us wine glasses -- we brought our own magnum of wine. One of our groups is a vegetarian and she and another ordered the same pasta dish. When the sever brought the dish, he could tell us which one was meatless. Our waiter was no where to be found so we advised the manager. After our complaint, the waiter came to our table and said "you cannot blame this mix-up on us!" later he accosted one of our party on the way to the ladies room and said "I was busy outside so I could not pay attention to you!¿ the manager camped our dinner! I really enjoyed my dish and tasted several others. So I will go back to the bistro but I know others of our group who go to Napa at least twice a year will not.”

- Fabulous food.
- Only Bill Gates can afford a bottle of wine here.
“The chef's tasting menu is wonderful certainly some of the freshest best prepared and creative dishes I have ever had. The actual interior of the restaurant is stuffy (too warm when I was there) and uninteresting. I was a bit put off by the rather draconian dress code a whole list of "don'ts" for a restaurant that is not in Paris, or even Yountville it is in "outer" Yountville. The waiter captain was stiff but knowledgeable, surrounded by a staff of uninterested high school waiters that explained dishes as if they were a recording. For $210 for lunch, I guess I expected better. The best thing about this place is the food. it is spectacular. It is a shame that the wine list is so stunningly overpriced that no one can afford to have a decent bottle of wine here. $90 Grande Dame was on the wine list for $795, and Krug vintage champagne ($225ish in stores) was listed for $1425 a bottle! The whole "experience" was missed because we felt we had to compromise immediately on the wine something one should never feel they should have to do when spending $1227 for lunch for 4 people, with one cheap bottle of California champagne. This would be a great $100 a person restaurant. I have eaten in many fabulous restaurants all over the world, and I have to say the food is fabulous here, but it is horribly overpriced when factoring in the environment, staff, and wine list. A good "one-off" experience.”
