- Best sushi in Salinas.
- Not so good table service.
“This is the best sushi restaurant in Salinas. The sushi bar service is wonderful. Table service, however, is slow and leaves something to be desired.”

“I stopped there on my way from Oakland to Santa Barbara. It's a nice place on a cute street in Salinas. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was relaxed and friendly but attentive. I ordered one of their daily specials, Salmon Benedict (my eyes lit up when I saw that on their "specials" board). It was really good! The salmon wasn't too salty and was well cooked. The fried potatoes were also done well -- they boiled them before frying them up, and they had plenty of dish crispiest without their being overcooked. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Even parking was easy. Two thumbs up!”

- Very high quality fish meticulous preparation.. good balance.
- The sauce on the eggplant appetizer might be a bit overpowering..
“This place is small and the sushi is made by the owner to order its excellent sushi and the other food is very good. The eggplant appetizer is braised with a sweet sauce. The shogun roll is very good and a house specialty. The Salinas roll is vegetarian and very good as well. My Japanese's exchange students claimed it was the best sushi on the Monterey peninsula.”

- The freshness of the sushi is unmatched, decor is authentic.
- They don't give back rubs or foot massages while you eat.
“Excellent sushi. This is the best sushi in Salinas. Hands down. I eat here about once or twice a month. You will not be disappointed. If you like rolls, be sure to try the spider, monster and Philadelphia rolls. Better yet, stop by Monday nights after 5 and for 25 dollars it is all you can eat. This is a clean restaurant, with owners who even take care to call you by name, if you go often enough and a friendly well groomed staff. I believe it is family owned and operated. There is huge value for your out to eat dollars here.”
