Cody's Diner

from New Haven
Overall Rating: 3

Atmosphere:[1]
- Inexpensive.
- Rude, inconsiderate owners.
“This is great for a cheap eat, but you wait a while for the food, the service is rude and when I got an undercooked dish, was punished by being ignored and never given a replacement. I was asked to leave for complaining. Strange place. Rude owners. There are better greasy spoons than this one.”

“This place is very cute and they have good food, but overall the experience we had today was unpleasant. The waiter didn't check back after bringing out the food. We ran out of coffee and couldn't catch anyone's attention to refill it until they brought the check. Then as we were finishing the coffee they brought out only after we paid the bill, the hostess came over and asked us to leave because people were waiting outside. It's too bad, there aren't many nice brunch places in Westville, but it will be a while before I feel like going back there.”

Tre Scalini Restaurant

from Philadelphia
Overall Rating: 10

Atmosphere:[10]
- Atmosphere, food, convenient parking.
- No negatives.
“I had a wonderful meal of baked salmon topped with fresh lobster and fresh fig at Tre Scalini in New Haven last night. Also had a side of spaghetti with hot Italian sausage. The salmon was cooked as only a New Englander can cook salmon - tender and succulent - the topping of fresh chunks of lobster and fig was an unusual but pleasing combination. The accompanying Reisling was just right - smooth and dry. We found the restaurant to be a very friendly place - we ate at the bar and chatted with the owner/bar tender (who was genuinely concerned about how we liked our meals) while we ate. There is also a lovely, romantic dining room. I'd go back anytime.”

Thai Taste Restaurant

Overall Rating: 9

- Great lunch specials.
- Sparse interior.
“Wow, what a surprise! Newly opened, The Terrace serves the best Thai food in the new haven area. Located in a tiny white building that's been a BBQ place for many years, the interior is sparse, but modern and attractive. Not your typical American Thai restaurant, the traditional Thai dishes are each prepared with a unique Terrace taste. The extra care taken with each dish is obvious. For example the fresh rolls, served elsewhere with sweet chili sauce out of a jar, are accompanied here with homemade spicy basil sauce. The unique and tasty Massaman Curry is deep red with tamarind. And the crushed peanuts in dishes like Satay are pan toasted for an extra nutty flavor. The chef's classic French training shows in the desserts. Try the "spaghetti ice cream and meatballs" spaghetti shaped vanilla ice cream with a berry wine sauce and chocolate truffles. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Special requests are welcomed.”
