- The meatballs are big.
- The Blue Parrot is a family restaurant and does not have a romantic atmosphere.
“I marvel at the negative reviews of the Blue Parrot. Simply, a restaurant does not survive for almost 100 years in Boulder County by not getting it right. Ironically, I have also read ignorant reviews about the Buckhorn Exchange (a Denver landmark which holds Denver's oldest liquor license). Clearly the Blue Parrot and Buckhorn Exchange deserve more respect considering that they are among the oldest of Colorado restaurants. If you are looking for high-end gourmet Italian, go somewhere else. The Blue Parrot serves family style Italian and has been doing it the same way for almost a century and hopefully will continue doing so for many years to come.”

- The grilled salmon with special sauce was simply fantastic.
- It would be nice if they had a roomier private dining area.
“This Carraba's serves simply wonderful grilled items. I have had the Pollo Rosa Maria and the Spiedino di Mare, which were both very good. The last time I was there, I ordered the Grilled Salmon with the Chef's Special Sauce of the Day, which was, quite honestly, the best grilled salmon I have ever eaten. Typically I have a cappuccino and biscotti for dessert, which was very good. The staff has been consistently friendly and accommodating, whether we have been there just with our immediate family or a larger group. The ambiance was typical of a nicer chain restaurant, although I do wish they had a little larger private dining area. There was usually nice Italian background music, often Sinatra. I definitely would recommend this restaurant for families with older children and business travelers, as well as for a nice Sunday dinner, although it may be too bustling for a romantic night out. It was a lot of fun to sit on the stools at the grill and watch the chefs cook. You can also eat in the bar area booths and watch sports, if that interests you.”

- The huge pasta noodles.
- Sometimes the wait.
“I have eaten at the Blue Parrot for over 50 years and I still look forward to going there when I am in Colorado. The homemade pasta is awesome! The sauce and the huge meatballs make my mouth water just thinking about it! It is one of those wonderful memories from childhood that still lives up to those expectations!”

- The homemade noodles and delicious marina sauce.
- The wait on Fridays can be long.
“The spaghetti and meatballs or sausage are amazing. Homemade pasta is to die for here, with thick delicious noodles. The sauce is so good they have had success with it commercially as well. The salad with homemade house Italian dressing and the fresh bread are an excellent addition. The other Italian dishes each offer a unique taste that you can only get with true authentic Italian food. Very family friendly, so bring your kids.”

- Service is excellent and items on the menu can be modified or cooked to order.
- Didn't offer whole wheat pasta as a healthy choice. I'd like to see more healthy options.
“Good food, Excellent service and friendly staff. Restaurant also has a nice selection of affordable good wines. Didn't care for the house wine, but other options were good.”
