Oney's Bar B-Q Bills
Dec 2, 2008 by
Jasmin
from Bishop
Overall Rating: 8
Food:[8] •
Service:[10] •
Atmosphere:[10]
- Tasty, down home cooking.
- Might be too authentic for those whose idea of food is a KFC wrap.
“This place stays the same. The decor, the food and the portions. It is old fashioned chuck wagon style barbecue. If your vegan, then you wont like the place, it has a simple salad bar because most people come for the meat, smoky, sweet, melt in your mouth barbecue that'll make your mouth sing with happiness. The kids like it too, there's atmosphere galore, you almost expect a Zorro to stop by for a snack.”

- Everything.
- I don't get to go there enough.
“Jacks is the best breakfast in the Sierras, not to mention the best I've ever had. But breakfast is not the only thing great there. On Fridays they have prime rib dinners for cheap and they are so good. Everything I have ever ordered from Jacks is outstanding. If you have breakfast there, you must try their biscuits and gravy. Jacks rules!”

Whiskey Creek
Jun 3, 2008 by
Paul
from Los Angeles
Overall Rating: 6
Food:[5] •
Service:[4] •
Atmosphere:[6]
- A glass of wine on the patio deck, looking out at the mountains.
- Food quality reminded us of dorm food in our college days.
“This used to be an eastern Sierra favorite of ours, but it seems to have declined in food quality and the interest level of the staff. The place is clean and you will get a decent meal, but nothing to rave about, and the servers seem to us to be bored and wishing they were somewhere else. Maybe this is just reflective of small-town life in a dreary economic time; we hope it will someday return to its prior level of a dozen or more years back.”

- Wait staff.
- Prices / Food Quality.
“Service was above average (especially when you consider that they were understaffed on a Sunday Night). The food was mediocre at best and overpriced. Drinks were reasonable.”
