Shanghai Reds 2

Food:[8] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Love the ambiance.
  • I can't think of anything.

“I love this place. I have been going for years. When I was younger I would go for drinks with friends, sit outside overlooking the Marina, sit by the fire pits, have a drink and just enjoy. As I have gotten older, I find myself enjoying the brunches and as always the ambiance. My fiance and I had our first date there and I can't even begin to tell you how perfect it was! The waiter we had was just wonderful. We got an amazing table by a window, the food was spectacular, just everything was wonderful. We have gone back every year for our anniversary. We are now planning our wedding and this is the perfect spot. The staff, the ambiance, the food. It is all good and so affordable. This place isn't perfect, it isn't 5 stars, but it is warm and cozy and just right. If you are looking for perfection and glitz then you are looking in the wrong place. If you are looking for warmth and a good night with someone special then you found it.”

East Japanese Restaurant

  • Great food, friendly servers the chef at the bar will feed you silly if you are a good customer.
  • Lunch hours are short but hey, they can do that!

“The food is awesome (and I am hard to please. I like Sushi Roku and Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills and that's about it for me). East is awesome. Authentic floor seating as well as a phenomenal sushi bar. They don't have long hours but they are well worth the fight to get in. The soft-shell crab is some of the best I have ever had, it's fresh and the crab is still warm and crunchy! If you go during lunch, get there early to get in and out before the rush sets in.”

Shanghai Reds 2

Food:[2] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[3]

  • Water view, good for some drinks.
  • Waiter that served our table, unprofessional, talked to us in a rude manner.

“My First time at Shanghai, and I have to say it was the worst service I had ever encountered. My dad suggested this place and made a previous reservation. So when my family all arrived, we wanted to be seated at a certain table but were refused by one guy dressed in a suit. He tried to seat us at a small table with no view at all. The place had many empty available tables so we asked for a table on the other side of the room and we were refused. So we decided to leave and he did not even try stopping us. Then, just before we were about to leave, we talked to another guy, a white guy who appeared to a manager about the seating problem and he allowed us to be seated where we desired. My family all agreed that we were discriminated by the first guy because we were Asian. Finally, we sat down and were ready to order and the waiter who served our table was very unprofessional, talked to us in rude manner, and food was dry and we had to remind the waiter for things he kept forgetting to bring us. Not only that, the bus boy was coming to our table and whenever one person was finished with there plate, he was in such a rush to clear our table while there were still other people eating. He did not even ask or say excuse me so we had to say something to the guy. Overall, really, bad experience, not worth going back.”
